Policies
The policies listed below are subject to change at any time. They were last updated March 2021. I promise my books are more interesting than what you’re going to be reading below.
Here’s my unofficial policy: I don’t spam and I don’t share.
This is a WordPress site, which gives you a lot of control over the personal data I have to collect on you. WordPress version 4.9.6 added a lot of privacy compliance which is easy to use. Continue reading for more information.
I use “cookies” on this site, and I sometimes use “cookies” as a stress-coping mechanism (don’t judge me!). On this site, a cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor’s hard drive to help improve your access to my site and identify repeat visitors. Cookies can also enable me to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site (although frankly I don’t know how, it just works). Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site.
If I had any advertisers on this site, they might use their cookies on this site. However, I would have no access to or control over these cookies. Would you like a great cookie recipe? Just ask me: marina@marinareznor.com.
Log Data
Whenever you visit my website, I collect information that your browser sends that is called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser version, pages of my website that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics. This information may be used to create ads based on those who visit this website. However, this data will not be used by anyone other than me.
Children’s Privacy
Regardless of the fact that I was reading romance books waaaaay before I was 13 years old – God Bless Barbara Cartland – I do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. If they’ve gotten a hold of mom or dad’s credit card or PayPal account, that’s not my problem. If I do find out that there’s been shenanigans, I will contact their parents/guardians and we’ll figure out what to do.
Are you a concerned parent or guardian? Contact me: marina@marinareznor.com
I take precautions to protect your information. When you submit information via my website, your information is protected both online and offline. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.
While I use encryption to protect information transmitted online, I also protect your information offline. I am the only person who sees and handles your information, and the computers/servers in which I store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment (and not on the laptop I haul around).
If, however, there is a data breach you will be notified within 24 hours.

Problems?
It’s all John Terry’s fault!
